JAMB has set the minimum cut-off marks for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session. The key decisions made during the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions in Abuja are as follows:

Universities:Ā Minimum cut-off mark isĀ 150

Colleges of Nursing Sciences:Ā Minimum score isĀ 140

Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, and Colleges of Agriculture:Ā Minimum score isĀ 100

What Is the JAMB Cut-Off Mark for 2025?

JAMB has declared the following as theĀ minimumĀ thresholds for admission:

  • 150Ā for universities
  • 140Ā for college of nursing sciences
  • 100Ā for polytechnics
  • 100Ā for colleges of education

But before you exhale or panic, here’s the twist: this is the floor, not the ceiling. Schools can set theirs higher. In fact, they often do. Because autonomy matters, and no one wants to lower their gates too far.

As Oloyede clarified during the 2025 policy meeting, each institution is free to set its own limit—so long as it stays above the national baseline.

So don’t assume.Ā Check what your chosen school actually accepts.
