Admission Requirements For Rivers State University
Rivers State University offers admission into its various undergraduate programs through two main modes of entry: UTME and Direct Entry (DE)
Candidates seeking admission into the university through either of these routes must ensure they satisfy the necessary academic and institutional requirements. Meeting these requirements is essential to be considered for admission.
UTME Admission Requirements
Candidates applying for admission through the UTME route must meet the following conditions:
- Possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings in any of the following examinations: WAEC, NECO, GCE O’Level, or NABTEB.
- Must have sat for the JAMB UTME examination and scored not less than 190, which is the general minimum cut-off mark for RSU (some competitive courses may require a higher score).
- Choose Rivers State University as their first choice institution during JAMB registration.
- Participate in the RSU Post-UTME screening exercise and attain the required cut-off mark for their chosen course.
- Be at least 16 years of age by the time of admission.
Direct Entry Admission Requirements
Applicants who wish to gain admission via the Direct Entry (DE) pathway must meet the following:-
- Possess a National Diploma (ND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), IJMB, or A-Level qualification in a relevant field with a minimum of Lower Credit or Merit, depending on the course of study.
- Also, have five (5) credit passes in O’Level subjects (including English and Mathematics) obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Obtain the Direct Entry form through JAMB and select Rivers State University as your first choice.
- Upload all relevant academic credentials and transcripts during the admission process.
- Participate in any departmental screening or interview process, if required by the faculty or department.
